Kathy began her career at UC Riverside in 2000. She worked exclusively in the editorial office of Philosophy professor Bernd Magnus until 2002 and then moved into the Philosophy department with the position of Graduate Affairs Assistant. She has been guiding graduate students towards their requirements in the Ph.D. program now for seven years. In 2008 she completed the first course of the PGSAC (Professional Graduate Student Advisor Course) offered at UC Riverside. In 2009 she attended and presented at the NACA (National Academic Advising Association) regional conference in Las Vegas on the subject of “Transitioning Students from Undergraduate Students to Graduate Students.” She has been invited to attend and present at the National NACA conference in San Antonio, Texas in October 2009. She is currently in the second year of the pilot program and part of the Working Group for the online application process called GSIS (Graduate Student Information System).
